Lancashire Insurance US (LUS), a newly established division of the Lancashire Group, has officially launched to expand Lancashire's global footprint. Huw Jones, who previously led the group's specialty insurance division, has been appointed as the CEO of LUS. “We are thrilled to introduce LUS and have assembled a strong team of underwriters and support staff.

We are eager to engage with our new partners and provide the top-notch underwriting expertise and client service that Lancashire is known for, expressed Jones. By establishing LUS, Lancashire aims to tap into new markets and business opportunities previously out of reach, while ensuring alignment with its current operations. Working under a delegated underwriting agreement with Lancashire's UK platform, LUS will concentrate on the US excess and surplus lines market, with a particular focus on energy casualty and property insurance products.

Key leadership appointments have been made to bolster LUS's team. Christopher Curtin has been appointed as head of US property, bringing over twenty years of experience in brokerage and underwriting to the role. Meanwhile, Brian Quinn joins as senior vice president of the energy casualty division, adding his expertise from senior underwriting positions at various prestigious firms.

Alex Maloney, Lancashire's group chief executive officer, expressed his excitement about the establishment of LUS, highlighting the access to new business opportunities and collaborations with a fresh client base. Lancashire Insurance US will operate nationally as Lancashire Insurance (US) LLC, also known as Lancashire Insurance Specialty Services. This development marks a significant milestone in Lancashire's strategic growth, opening doors to new ventures and partnerships.
